    Boomers Newcomers is a meal event designed for new members of Boomers Rock to meet and learn more about the organization and how to become more active. 

    It's attendance is limited to 24, to assure a get-to-know-you environment. 

    Each participant pays for his/her own meal. We will order off of the menu.

    Show up upstairs at 5:30 for Cocktail hour. Dinner will 6ish.

    Our next paddle will be Friday, June 20th on Lake Coronado.  Paddles in the water at 9:00. 

    In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

    REMEMBER: Make sure your kayak has a POA sticker, bring your name tag & have a lifejacket.

    You must sign the liability waiver to register for the event. Please note you only need to sign it once per season so if you completed it for a previous kayaking event in 2025, you do not need to sign it again but you must still check the box on the registration form.

                           Save the Dates—Boomers Golf Scramble

    Mark your calendars and get your clubs ready! Here are the upcoming dates for Boomers Rock Golf Scramble. Stay tuned for registration approximately one month in advance of date. Boomers Rock Golf Scramble is 9 holes of play and then a social hour after to give away prizes and get to know everyone. Registration will be on the Boomers Rock website. You will need to provide your average score on that course for 9 holes when registering.

    Teams are made up of 4 with every team’s handicap about the same. Similar to last year, you can play with your spouse or friend. Limited to the first 60 golfers, so don’t wait to RSVP.

    Let’s keep the energy high and make these rounds memorable. There’s a $5 fee for prizes, including closest to the pin holes for men and women. Participants pay $5 when registering online, and each person is responsible for the cost of their golf.

    The rules:  Each member of the foursome will have to have (1) drive per the 9 holes. The maximum number of drives for any player in the group will be four. Regardless of age, men will hit from the silver tees and women from the gold tees. There is a 2-putt max once you are on the green and we will not play out of sand traps this year.

    April 27th - Magellan (9 holes/3pm SG start) August 24th - Cortez (9 holes/3pm SG start)

    May 18th - Granada (9 holes/3pm SG start) September 28th - Balboa (9 holes/3pm SG start)

    June 22nd - Isabella (9 holes/3pm SG start) October 26th - Ponce (9 holes/3pm SG start)

    July 27th - DeSoto (9 holes/3pm SG start) November 16th - Coronado(18 holes/1pm SG start)

  • Boomers Trail Masters Hike

    Join your fellow Boomers for a hike along a section of the Hernando Trail. 

    We will meet in the parking lot ~100 yards west of Cortez road (past the Good Samaritan) off of Desoto Blvd.  There is a sign on Desoto directing you where to park for the trail.  

    We will walk for about 1 hour along this trail. As this trail is not a loop, we will walk east for 30 min., turn around and walk back.  You can choose your own distance.

    Normally we hike west from the parking lot but we will change it up and walk east toward Minorca Road. This is a little more challenging than the other direction. Total distance is about 2 miles round trip.

    All Boomers members are welcome to come along!  We do ask that you register so that we know who is coming and who we should notify if there is a weather delay.  If there is, you will receive an email one hour before the hike.

  • Boomers Texas 42 Dominoes

    Texas 42 is a domino game for four players in two teams, where the goal is to be the first team to reach seven "marks" (250 points) by bidding and winning tricks, with points awarded for tricks and specific sessiondominoes.  There are various strategies  to winning.  Each player brings $5 to ante to the pot.  Winning team wins 60%.  Worst team wins 40% of the pot.

    We play the first Wednesday of the month at the GRENADA GRILL, from 1 to 4 PM.

    For new players, a training session is MANDATORY before playing. It takes some time to develop your knowledge of the game, but that adds to the excitement of beating your opponents.

    It’s going to be a Full moon!

    Time for the Boomers Single’s Epic Summer Picnic!

    Come join us at Lake Cortez Pavilion Thursday, July 10th, 5:00pm

    The Village’s best epicureans(Boomer Singles) will be sharing their favorite dishes, games and personalities as we party down. Come for a few minutes or be a party animal and be the last to leave. It is a great chance to sample some delicious victuals and get to know your fellow Boomer singles. Come join the festivities under A FULL MOON!

    To help you decide what to bring:

    A – H –Side dish or salad (hint I love Fritos and bean dip but never buy them because my skinny doctor says they are not on my list of approve items to consume)

    I – O – Casserole or main dish – (I plan on bringing a pot of Beans and Andouille Sausage and maybe a side of boiled shrimp- not spicy)

    P – Z – Desserts or Fruit (Watermelon is a favorite)

    Bring yard or table games, beverages for yourself and a chair if you don’t like sitting at a picnic table.

    We pay for use of the pavilion so tickets are a modest $5 each.

    Please join us for Boomers Bingo Night.  We will hold this exciting event at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Lower Hall. Sign-ups start the first day of the month!

    There will be no food served but you are encouraged to bring your own light snacks and choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy.

    The cost for this fun evening is $12. This includes 3 bingo cards for use for the evening. We will be using our finger-tip shutter slide bingo cards.  The money collected from the purchase of bingo cards will be given back in cash prizes to the winners. 

    You must be registered to attend. NO ONE will be admitted at the door without a registration.

    Please don't arrive before 6:00 pm unless you are a volunteer. We need time to get set up before people start coming in.

    The entrance to the Lower Hall is on the North side of the church under the awning. Please enter through the doors on this level.

    Please register early to reserved your spot. Only 150 members can attend.

    This is a MEMBERS ONLY EVENT. Non-member guests are not allowed. If you have a friend who want to come, get them to join!

    Come try your luck at Margaritaville Casino Night.  You will be given 2 raffle tickets when you check in.  Go to a cashier table turn in one ticket to receive $100 in casino chips to play 7 casino tables (3 blackjack, 1 roulette, 1 crap, 2 three card poker tables).  If you go BUST, you have the option of either getting another $100 chips with your second raffle ticket or placing your raffle ticket in the container of the prize you would like to win.  At the end of the. evening, trade your chips in for raffle tickets. There will be over 40 prizes, in which you can place your tickets in a basket and try to win that prize. We will draw one ticket for each prize and announce winners at the end of night. We welcome all gambling enthusiasts--from high rollers to novices. Everyone has a chance to win a prize.  It only takes one lucky ticket!
