  • Boomers Trail Masters Hike

    Join us for the Boomers Rock Trail Masters hike along the H.S. Mountain Trail (1.7mi).  This trail runs along the top of the mountain and is fairly easy but does have some modest uphill sections. 

    We will meet in the Parking lot beneath the Mountain tower.  

    Directions to the tower:

    As you drive into Hot Springs from HSV, turn left by the Arlington Hotel onto Fountain St.  Drive.  Go about 800 ft and take a right. Follow the signs to the Mountain Tower parking lot directly under the tower.

    All Boomers members are welcome to come along!  We do ask that you register so that we know who is coming and who we should notify if there is a cancellation.  If there is, you will receive an email at least one hour before the hike.

  • Boomers Texas 42 Dominoes

    Texas 42 is a domino game for four players in two teams, where the goal is to be the first team to reach seven "marks" (250 points) by bidding and winning tricks, with points awarded for tricks and specific session dominoes.  There are various strategies  to winning.  Each player brings $5 to ante to the pot. 

    Winning team gets the pot except for $10 which goes to the lowest scoring team.

    We play the first Wednesday of the month at the Sunset Grill, 488 Ponce DeLeon Drive, from 1 to 4 PM.

    For new players, it is required to receive instruction before playing. It takes some time to develop your knowledge of the game, but that adds to the excitement of beating your opponents.

  • Keep HSV Beautiful! Clean-up Day

    It's that time again to show our support for the Village "Keep HSV Beautiful" efforts by picking up the litter on two well traveled HSV roads. Our continued participation helps maintain our good relationship with the POA and presents a positive image to the community.

    Our assigned routes are West Villena, and DeSoto Blvd from the west gate to Carmona Road. 

    We will all meet in the parking lot in front of the Desoto Club at 8am.  (I will arrive by 7:30am for those who want to start early.)  Pairs of volunteers will be assigned approximately a 1/2 mile section of road to clean up.  

    We will provide trash bags, high-visibility vests, and bottled water. You should plan to wear work gloves and sturdy shoes/boots, and you should apply bug spray.  Please bring a "grabber" or other tool to pick up trash and cigarette butts.

    The event should take about 1 1/2 hours if we have enough volunteers.  You will be asked to take your filled bags to the dumpsters near the outdoor pool on DeSoto Blvd.

  • Social Singles Hot Springs Annual Running of the Tubs

    The Boomers Social Singles are heading back to the Tub Races!!  This unique annual event promises a morning of Fun, Wet and Exciting Competitions! Yes, WET!!  Bring your water guns for total participation and annihilation.  Races start at 9:00.  I will save a section but to guarantee a spot, come close to 8:30.  I will have donuts ready for you.

    Meet on Central (yes, you will have to walk) in front of the Hale Bath house.  Bring a fold up chair, a drink, water gun (optional) and possibly change of clothes.  We will go out for Brunch afterwards at Eden Restaurant in the Hale House Hotel around 11:00.

    6:30pm—ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Catfish & Chicken Dinner catered by Riverside Catering.          Location:  Balboa Pavilion

    Please join us an exciting evening of excitement, adventure, competition, and delicious food!

    THE GREAT BOOMERS HUNT 4pm

    -Must have at least one digital cell phone with NEW APP (Scavvy) down-loaded for each team.  We encourage everyone on the team to download the app,  so that can assist in game play.  

    -App features missions, area with each mission with your pics, leaderboard, no time stamp needed last picture will be timestamped, app stops the event when time is up. 

    -One vehicle per team of 4, max of 5 players.  That way we will have less cars on the road. The CAPTAIN only takes pics of each mission, but all can follow missions on their phones. Register as individuals, once you arrive your team captain will check-in your team.  If you need a team, no problem, we will put individuals without team together at check-in.  

    -You will have 1:15 hours to complete the hunt—team with the most points wins a cash prize and bragging rights.

    -Bring your team or we will put a team together for you.

    FISH FRY & FUN — 6:30

    Not interested in the game? No problem!  You can still join us for an amazing all-you-can-eat catfish and chicken dinner while enjoying our favorite tunes on Boomers Rock Sound System.

    The dinner will consist of catfish, chicken, hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, baked beans and tea.

    Please bring beverages of your choice to enjoy.  REGISTRATION WILL OPEN May 1st.\ ENDS MAY 27TH 

    Instructions/rules and game code will be given out at the event!

    This is a MEMBERS ONLY EVENT.  NO Pets Allowed.  If you have friends that wanna join us have them join the club.  All guests must be members!

    Our amazing Boomers Captains will offer one 45 minute cruise of Balboa Lake.  We will limit the number of passengers based on the number of Captains we have available.  We will be doing signups differently this year.  After you check-in, please go over to the boat ride signup table.  This will enable you to sign up with your partners/friends, depending on space available. It will also give us a more accurate head count. Sign up early if you want to take a boat ride.  First come first serve!


    To help us assure a variety of potluck dishes, please bring a dish to share based on the first letter of your last name. 

        A-H:  Side dish/healthy salad

        I-O:  Bring your favorite dessert

        P-Z:  Hearty casserole dish

                           Save the Dates—Boomers Golf Scramble

    Mark your calendars and get your clubs ready! Here are the upcoming dates for Boomers Rock Golf Scramble. Stay tuned for registration approximately one month in advance of date. Boomers Rock Golf Scramble is 9 holes of play and then a social hour after to give away prizes and get to know everyone. Registration will be on the Boomers Rock website. You will need to provide your average score on that course for 9 holes when registering.

    Teams are made up of 4 with every team’s handicap about the same. Similar to last year, you can play with your spouse or friend. Limited to the first 60 golfers, so don’t wait to RSVP.

    Let’s keep the energy high and make these rounds memorable. There’s a $5 fee for prizes, including closest to the pin holes for men and women.  Players are responsible for the cost of their golf fees.

    The rules:  Each member of the foursome will have to have (1) drive per the 9 holes. Regardless of age, men will hit from the silver tees and women from the gold tees. There is a 2-putt max once you are on the green and we will not play out of sand traps this year.

    When tee times are scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation from Central Tee Times stating the start time and the hole you will start on.  If two are on a particular hole, it will state A or B beside the number.

    PLEASE - contact Gary Cason if you have to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Pairings are done in advance, so it slows down game start with no shows. 


    March 22nd - PONCE (9 holes/4pm, shotgun start)

    April 26th - MAGELLAN (9 holes/4pm SG start)

    May 17th - GRANADA (9 holes/2pm tee time start ) 

    June 28th - DESOTO  (9 holes/4pm SG start)
