Lake Ouachita - Lookout
5451 Mountain Pine Road Mountain Pine, AR 71956
We will meet at the Lake Ouachita Park by the Trail Head. (When in the Park - turn Left at Stop Sign and park at the Trail Head on your left.) We will then walk up the road to the Service Road.
This road goes through the center of the Peninsula, so we are not walking on the Caddo Bend Trail, we are walking parallel to it. The Service Road is mostly paved, flat and easy to walk on. It will take us to the Lookout - at which point we will have a very short walk on the Caddo Bend Trail to the Lookout.
The scenery is worth it. Total walk is about 2-1/2 miles.
All Boomers members are welcome to come along! We do ask that you register below so that we know who is coming and who we should notify if there is a weather delay. If there, is you will receive an email one hour before the hike.
This event is exclusive to Boomers Rock members. Friendly dogs are welcome.

Boomers Rock is one of 25 teams that keep the Village clean for Keep HSV Beautiful. Our assignment is West Villena and DeSoto Blvd (west gate to Carmona) — two roads, and we need 18 folks to cover them.
Here's the whole commitment: meet at the DeSoto Club parking lot at 8:00 AM, pair up with someone, take a half-mile section of road, and you're usually done in about 90 minutes. We provide the bags, high-visibility vests, gloves, bug spray, and cold water. You bring sturdy shoes plus a grabber tool if you own one (no worries if you don't).
That's the whole thing. You're home before the morning's half over, you've spent it outside with folks you like, and the Village looks sharp because a few hundred neighbors all turned out at once.
Prefer to start ahead of the group? I'll be there by 7:30. Questions? Email Cindi Erickson at ce56385@gmail.com. New to the program? It's all at KeepHSVBeautiful.org.
PLEASE JOIN US! Be sure you receive a registration confirmation email, to assure that we're expecting you. Please cancel your registration if you are not able to participate as planned.
Let's explore the AR Museum of Fine Art! We'll meet there at 10:00am for the 10:30 guided tour which lasts about an hour. Brunch to follow at "The Park" restaurant inside the museum. Then everyone is free to explore the museum on their own! Let's beat the heat in a cool museum :-D
Free parking on site and free admission!
Event is for Boomer's Members only. Please make sure to register so we know how many to expect.
If you need to cancel please contact Karen Perry at artystkaren@gmail.com or call/text 602-290-4189.
BOOMERS GOLF
Save the Dates—Boomers Golf Scramble
Mark your calendars and get your clubs ready! Here are the upcoming dates for Boomers Rock (BR) Golf Scrambles. Registration will open approximately one month in advance of the date. BR Golf Scramble is 9 holes of play followed by a social hour afterwards to give prizes away and get to know everyone. Registration will be on the Boomers Rock website. You will need to provide your 9 hole average score on the specific course we are playing when registering.
Teams are made up of 4 players or 3 players with a Bubba when necessary to have every team’s handicap about the same. Similar to last year, you can play with your spouse or friend. The scramble is limited to the first 60 golfers, so don’t wait to RSVP. The cut-off date to register is midnight on Tuesday before the golf scramble is played on Sunday.
Let’s keep the energy high and make these rounds memorable. There’s a $5 fee for prizes, including closest to the pin on holes specific for men and women. Players are responsible for the cost of their own golf fees.
The rules: Each member of the foursome must have (1) drive per 9 holes. Regardless of age, men will hit from the silver tees and women will alternate between the orange and gold tees. There is a 2-putt max once you are on the green and we will not play out of sand traps this year.
When tee times are scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation from Central Tee Times stating the time and the hole you will start. If two groups are on a particular hole, it will state A or B beside the number. Note: The golf dept computer software was changed to only show start times to reserve the tees as place holders. However, our golf scramble events are now only shotgun starts at 4 PM.
**Important** If you have to cancel after registering, you must contact Gary Cason by midnight on the Thursday before the scramble is played on Sunday afternoon. Any cancellations past this date without an emergency or health-related excuse will be unacceptable and you will no longer be able to play in future BR golf scramble events. Pairings are done in advance, and cancellations cause more work by shuffling other teams the last minute. I appreciate your support on this matter but we still want everyone to have fun playing in the golf scrambles.
